Grupo JCPM lança terceiro Relatório ASG com resultados em sustentabilidade

O Grupo JCPM lança nesta segunda-feira (14) para o mercado seu 3º Relatório ASG. O documento apresenta os principais resultados e avanços de 2024 nas agendas ambiental, social e de governança da empresa líder no setor de shopping centers no Nordeste e referência nos ramos imobiliário e de comunicação. Ao longo das nove décadas de atuação, celebradas este ano, o pioneirismo se tornou marca do Grupo, além da transversalidade do compromisso social operado pelo Instituto JCPM (IJCPM) e pela Fundação Pedro Paes Mendonça (FPPM).

Entre os destaques apresentados na nova edição do Relatório ASG está a elaboração de um Guia de Boas Práticas para Eventos Sustentáveis. Com a variada programação cultural oferecida pelos shoppings, o guia apresenta diretrizes para o planejamento e realização de eventos com melhor impacto, incluindo orientações sobre descarbonização, gestão de resíduos, economia circular, práticas antidiscriminatórias e fortalecimento do comércio local. 

O primeiro a implantar a produção de uma ação a partir do guia foi o RioMar Aracaju, no Festival de 35 anos, que alcançou uma redução de 16% os custos totais a partir do uso de materiais menos poluentes, economia quase meia tonelada de CO₂ somente com a substituição de lonas por malhas na cenografia, além de evitar o uso de cerca de 100kg de plástico adesivo.

INDICADORES SOCIOAMBIENTAIS

Entre outros indicadores ambientais apresentados pelo Relatório está o consumo de 100% de energia provenientes de fontes renováveis (certificação I-REC) em todos os shoppings de administração direta e 70% de todos os resíduos recicláveis gerados destinados a cooperativas locais.

Já o compromisso com as pessoas e a comunidade do entorno conduz os investimentos sociais que somaram R$ 17,9 milhões em 2024. No IJCPM, que conta com seis unidades, distribuídas em quatro estados, no ano passado foram realizados 8.789 atendimentos, com ações de educação, capacitação profissional e formação cidadã de jovens moradores do entorno dos empreendimentos do Grupo JCPM.   A FPPM atua para a melhoria da qualidade de vida da comunidade da Serra do Machado, no interior do Sergipe, beneficiando cerca de 2 mil moradores do distrito, com iniciativas voltadas para educação, cultura, acolhimento social e saúde. 

Para o presidente do Grupo JCPM, João Carlos Paes Mendonça, os dados apresentados refletem o comprometimento das equipes com a sustentabilidade e a transparência no desenvolvimento dos negócios, empenhados na melhoria contínua dos resultados. “O Nordeste, como nossa região de base e de referência, segue sendo o foco de nosso desenvolvimento, onde buscamos impactar positivamente tanto para questões ambientais quanto sociais”, destaca.

Com a gestão de sete shoppings de administração direta (RioMar Aracaju, RioMar Fortaleza, RioMar Kennedy, RioMar Recife, Salvador Shopping, Salvador Norte Shopping e Shopping Jardins), do Sistema Jornal do Commercio de Comunicação, e com empreendimentos imobiliários, que inclui condomínios comerciais e o recém-lançado Condomínio Praia de Guadalupe, no Litoral Sul de Pernambuco, o Grupo JCPM gera 3,1 mil empregos diretos e impulsiona outros cerca de 40 mil empregos.
