Shopping Recife reforça estrutura para descarte de resíduos

Com atuação constante em prol da sociedade e meio ambiente, o Shopping Recife tem impulsionado uma rede de estratégias a favor das questões ligadas à ESG, com atuações que envolvem o reaproveitamento de resíduos, a conscientização "verde" e a redução do consumo de energia e água pelo equipamento.

Para isso, novos indicadores vêm sendo fortalecidos para reforçar as práticas internas que geram impacto no meio ambiente e na comunidade.

Entre as medidas implementadas está a ampliação do programa de reciclagem, que atualmente, conta com um processo completo realizado pela cooperativa de catadores da Rede Nova Esperança, com o apoio do coletivo de Agroecologia Urbana, Kapiwara.

Por mês, cerca de 50 toneladas de materiais são recicladas através da Central de Resíduos do shopping, havendo o objetivo de tratar 100% dos descartes produzidos no empreendimento.

Além disso, combinada à prática da reciclagem, outra importante iniciativa com foco nas ações de responsabilidade e mitigação ambiental é a composteira dos resíduos orgânicos gerados pelas operações. Instalada há seis meses, a estrutura já direcionou quase cinco toneladas de insumos para produção de composto orgânico, que tem sido aplicado na horta comunitária de Entra Apulso. Ao longo desse tempo, já foram produzidos quase 40kg de verduras que são distribuídas entre os moradores do entorno através do Instituto Shopping Recife.

Acreditamos na importância dessa integração, inclusive envolvendo os lojistas e colaboradores, para conseguimos ampliar o potencial de impactos positivos do shopping", afirma Luis Henrique Remígio, gerente de Operações do centro de compras.

Outro ativo ambiental do Shopping Recife é o Ecoponto, espaço com coletores para seis tipos de resíduos diferentes: plástico, vidro, papel, pilhas, eletroeletrônicos e óleo de cozinha usado. O último é destinado para o projeto Chié do Entra, com objetivo de transformar o material em sabão e detergente, com consequente atividade econômica em Entra Apulso, onde os produtos são comercializados.

Além disso, o equipamento conta com 100% do seu esgoto tratado pela Central de Tratamento de Efluentes (ETE), possibilitando que 500 mil litros de água sejam reutilizados por mês nos seus 37 mil m² de área verde. 

Já na arquitetura, as claraboias distribuídas pela extensão do centro de compras permitem uma iluminação natural em diversas áreas. Desde 2017, com troca faseada das lâmpadas por iluminação de LED, o empreendimento reduziu em mais de 50% o seu consumo de energia. Junto a isso, a climatização de todo o espaço é viabilizada por um Tanque de Água Gelada (TAG), que permite a termoacumulação do recurso hídrico produzido pelos equipamentos de refrigeração, logo, a água é refrigerada de madrugada e utilizada no processo de climatização durante o dia. 

E não menos importante, a força dos carros elétricos também está presente no Shopping Recife.

São 10 estações gratuitas que oferecem o serviço com toda comodidade que o cliente necessita. “Todas as ações são acompanhadas de perto com o objetivo de estar sempre enxergando novas oportunidades e atualizações dos processos já existentes”, conclui Luis Henrique.
