RioMar Recife celebra Semana do Meio Ambiente com mostra “A Transformação do Plástico com Arte e Sustentabilidade”

Em celebração à Semana do Meio Ambiente, realizada em decorrência do Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente, comemorado em 5 de junho, o RioMar Recife recebe a mostra “A Transformação do Plástico com Arte e Sustentabilidade” com objetivo de fomentar a reflexão sobre como nossas ações impactam diretamente na biodiversidade do nosso planeta. A mostra, que tem acesso gratuito, ficará em cartaz entre os dias 3 e 10 de junho no Piso L2, no hall próximo da loja Sephora.

A mostra, promovida pelo RioMar Recife com a curadoria de Ângelo Filizola, contará com obras da artista Thiana Santos, que desenvolve produtos e projetos através da reutilização de descartes urbanos. Com a reutilização das garrafas PET, a Thiana cria peças decorativas e funcionais que destacam a importância da reciclagem.

“A Transformação do Plástico com Arte e Sustentabilidade” vai apresentar uma reflexão sobre as questões ambientais referente aos 3 Rs – Reduzir – Reutilizar – Reciclar, reforçando a importância de mudar hábitos e rever conceitos. No espaço dedicado ao meio ambiente, é possível encontrar um lounge inovador, projetado para proporcionar um ambiente acolhedor e inspirador, onde é possível descansar, conversar e se conectar.

Cada peça do lounge – das luminárias que iluminam suavemente o ambiente, dos puffs confortáveis e mesinha elegante – foi cuidadosamente criada a partir de garrafas PET, demonstrando as incríveis especificidades e o potencial transformador desse material tão presente em nosso cotidiano. Estima-se que uma única garrafa pode levar até 450 anos para se decompor na natureza. A reutilização do plástico PET ajuda a reduzir a poluição e a demanda por novos materiais, promovendo um futuro mais sustentável.

A artista

Em sua técnica, Thiana Santos utiliza um design sustentável para transformar lixo em arte. Os trabalhos desenvolvidos são norteados pelo tripé da sustentabilidade: economicamente viável; socialmente justo e ambientalmente correto. O objetivo principal do seu trabalho é resinificar o reuso de garrafas Pet para o desenvolvimento de produtos artesanais sustentáveis, promovendo um resultado sofisticado e inovador.

O estudo e a prática do Consumo Consciente e a necessidade do mercado sempre ávido por novidades levou a artista a refletir sobre a responsabilidade de cada um de nós a respeito do descarte de tudo que consumimos. A partir desta reflexão e sabendo que a garrafa plástica é um componente do lixo que leva mais de 100 anos para se decompor, ela iniciou um trabalho de pesquisa para desenvolver técnicas e ferramentas para trabalhar o pet de forma inovadora.

"Procuro desenvolver um trabalho em busca de um novo olhar, aliando as questões ambientais e sociais ao desenvolvimento de produtos sustentáveis", conta a artista. O resultado desta preocupação é a linha de produtos inspirada nos resíduos do consumismo contemporâneo. “Em meus momentos de criação, brinco com cortes, encaixes e texturas diversas, fazendo apenas pequenas interferências com outros materiais, sempre destacando o design das peças”, complementa.
