Palestra vai conscientizar alunos da rede pública do Recife sobre descarte correto de óleo usado na cozinha

Nesta Semana Mundial da Água, estudantes da rede pública do Recife terão a oportunidade de aprender um pouco mais sobre a importância do mineral e suas transformações químicas no dia a dia.

Cerca de 120 alunos das Escolas de Referência em Ensino Médio (EREM) Silva Jardim e José Vilela, situadas nos bairros de Monteiro e do Parnamirim, respectivamente, na Zona Norte do Recife, participarão da palestra “O descarte correto do óleo usado na cozinha”, com abertura por Jakeline Soares, área de Responsabilidade Socioambiental do Plaza Shopping, e condução através de Joane Souza, que é analista socioambiental do programa “Mundo Limpo, Vida Melhor”, da ASA Indústria.

A iniciativa será oferecida em dois momentos: nesta segunda (18), às 15h20, na EREM Silva Jardim, e na terça (19), às 14h, na EREM José Vilela.

“Queremos que a ação de educação ambiental seja multiplicada. Por isso, vamos mobilizar os jovens a fazerem a coleta seletiva do óleo usado em suas residências para repasse ao Mundo Limpo. Aquelas atitudes de dispensar o material no ralo da pia, no vaso sanitário ou mesmo junto com o lixo orgânico levam à contaminação do esgoto e do solo, além da atmosfera. Reduzir, reutilizar e reciclar impactam positivamente em esferas ambientais, econômicas e sociais como o planeta precisa urgentemente”, pontua Jakeline, do Plaza.

Mundo Limpo, Vida Melhor

A educação se tornou o maior legado do programa “Mundo Limpo, Vida Melhor” que, em 16 anos de atividades, já retirou cerca de 10 milhões de litros de óleo do meio ambiente, ajudando a preservar mais de 280 bilhões de litros de água, considerando que um litro de óleo pode contaminar até 25 mil litros de água.
