Shopping Guararapes inaugura Nova Central de Resíduos e impacta a vida de mais de 300 famílias

A reforma completa da Central de Resíduos do Shopping Guararapes marca um passo importante no esforço do empreendimento em prol da sustentabilidade ambiental e do desenvolvimento da comunidade de Jaboatão dos Guararapes. Através da implementação de práticas de coleta seletiva eficientes e da parceria com a Cooperativa Coopmare, a Central está impactando positivamente a vida de 300 famílias, transformando resíduos em fonte de renda e construindo um futuro mais sustentável. Além disso, a média de 34% de reciclabilidade do Shopping se traduz em mais de 300 toneladas de resíduos reciclados anualmente.

Caminho dos resíduos
Aprimorando os processos de coleta seletiva do Shopping, a Central de Resíduos do mall opera agora com maior eficiência. A equipe de limpeza do mall coleta os resíduos comuns diretamente nas lojas de alimentação e outras lojas que geram até 60 litros de resíduos por dia. Já os demais lojistas, realizam a entrega dos resíduos diretamente na Central de Resíduos, após fazerem o acondicionamento adequado seguindo o Plano de Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos (PGRS) do Shopping Guararapes. Na central, estes resíduos são recebidos pelos cooperados e triados por eles. Mensalmente, aproximadamente 28 toneladas de resíduos são encaminhadas para reciclagem.

A atividade da central não só fortalece o compromisso ambiental, mas também impulsiona a criação de empregos, beneficia diretamente os cooperados e promove o desenvolvimento socioeconômico da comunidade. A cooperativa instalada na central é a Coopmare, localizada em Curcurana, que tem associadas a ela outras cooperativas. Ela realiza o recebimento, triagem e envio de todo material para o seu galpão, para que seja prensado e revendido, beneficiando todos os cooperados.

Construção sustentável
As obras de melhorias do espaço físico da central levaram também em consideração o uso de materiais recicláveis e reaproveitados, como telhas feitas com materiais recicláveis e revestimentos cerâmicos. E não parou por aí, a estrutura do telhado, construída a partir de materiais reaproveitados, incorporou sobras, enquanto a infraestrutura elétrica e os elementos de granito e gradis metálicos, foram materiais reutilizados. Para proporcionar ventilação e iluminação naturais, foram criadas aberturas estratégicas entre o telhado e as paredes, facilitando a circulação de ar, assim como, portas e janelas foram desenhadas para otimizar a entrada de luz solar, criando assim um ambiente luminoso e propício ao trabalho.

Comprometido com as práticas empresariais sustentáveis e responsáveis, e com os princípios ESG (Ambiental, Social e de Governança), o Shopping Guararapes decidiu investir na nova Central de Resíduos. “Nossa missão vai além de simplesmente administrar os resíduos gerados no Shopping; é sobre catalisar mudanças significativas em nossa comunidade. A cada tonelada de resíduos recicláveis encaminhada para reciclagem, estamos construindo um futuro mais sustentável, promovendo oportunidades de renda e estimulando a consciência ambiental nos clientes. Esses são os valores que nos impulsionam”, afirma Claudemir Oliveira, gerente de Operações do Shopping Guararapes.

1. Recebimento - A cooperativa recebe na Central de Resíduos os recicláveis disponibilizados pelos lojistas;
2. Triagem inicial - Os cooperados realizam triagem inicial, separando os materiais recicláveis dos não recicláveis;
3. Classificação por tipo de resíduo - O material passa por uma triagem específica, dessa forma, neste processo os resíduos são catalogando por tipo (Papel, papel misto, papelão, plástico, metal, vidro etc.);
4. Limpeza - Caso necessário o material passa por higienização;
5. Armazenamento - Todo o resíduo separado é acondicionado em tambores e big bags, facilitando a coleta;
6. Coleta - Após o armazenamento, todo o resíduo é coletado através de caminhões;
7. Transporte - Todo o resíduo após coletado é direcionado ao galpão da cooperativa, onde por fim eles passarão pela separação final, prensagem e destinação final (venda).
