Shopping Recife cria Ecoponto para descarte de recicláveis

Com o objetivo de ampliar cada vez mais as suas iniciativas sustentáveis, o Shopping Recife preparou uma grande novidade para os seus clientes e os moradores do entorno. A partir do próximo dia 18, o centro de compras contará com um Ecoponto para o descarte de seis tipos de materiais recicláveis, em um espaço montado no Edifício Garagem D1.

No Ecoponto, estarão disponíveis coletores de materiais como plástico, vidro, papel, pilhas, óleo de cozinha usado e eletroeletrônicos, todos materiais que, se descartados de forma adequada, evitam prejuízos ao meio. A reciclagem será de responsabilidade da pernambucana Saga, que já é responsável pela Central de Resíduos do shopping há quase 10 anos, e possui licenciamento ambiental da CPRH e do IBAMA, atuando alinhada com todas as leis que regulamentam a proteção do meio ambiente no país e com novas tendências mundiais de sustentabilidade. 

Já o óleo usado será recolhido em parceria com a ASA e encaminhado para o Instituto Shopping Recife para ser usado no projeto Chié do Entra, um coletivo formado na comunidade de Entra Apulso, nas proximidades do mall, e que promove ações que possibilitem uma educação ambiental e de práticas sustentáveis. Entre as ações do Chié do Entra está a transformação de óleo usado em produtos como sabão em barra, em pasta e detergente, reforçando a importância do descarte correto desse material.

"Cada vez mais entendemos que é preciso propor iniciativas que incentivem práticas mais sustentáveis a longo prazo. A implementação de um Ecoponto aqui no Shopping Recife torna esse ato ainda mais prático para os clientes que procuram realizar um descarte adequado de seus materiais, além de servir como incentivo para que mais pessoas façam o mesmo. Essa é uma das ações realizadas por aqui que visam conscientizar e beneficiar nossa cidade e meio ambiente, reforçando nosso comprometimento com a sustentabilidade", afirma a gerente de Marketing do Shopping Recife, Melissa Leal.

Além do Ecoponto, o Shopping Recife já desenvolve uma série de iniciativas com foco na responsabilidade ambiental. "Atualmente, conseguimos reciclar um total de aproximadamente 9 mil toneladas de material por mês através da nossa Central De Resíduos. Além disso, construímos uma Estação de Tratamento de Efluentes (ETE) que trata 100 % do esgoto gerado pelo mall, permitindo a destinação de 500 mil litros de água para reuso e utilizando-a para irrigação de 37 mil m² de área verde do shopping", destaca o Gerente de Operações do centro de compras, Luis Henrique Remígio.

Na arquitetura também há esse planejamento. O shopping contempla várias claraboias que permitem a iluminação natural no mall e, além disso, toda iluminação interna e externa do equipamento é em LED, que promove uma redução de consumo de energia elétrica em cerca de 51,3%, auxiliando o meio ambiente e, consequentemente, reduzindo custo.

Na climatização, o shopping possui um Tanque de Água Gelada (TAG), que permite a termoacumulação da água produzida pelos equipamentos de refrigeração. "Isso faz com que esta água gelada produzida à noite seja utilizada no processo de climatização durante o dia e nos horários de alta demanda, também proporcionando menor consumo de energia", pontua Remígio.
