Programa Mundo Limpo chega ao Plaza Shopping

O programa Mundo Limpo, Vida Melhor, que tem como objetivo a coleta e reaproveitamento do óleo de fritura usado, chega ao Plaza Shopping, no Recife, com uma ação educativa que será realizada nos dias 29 e 30 deste mês. A ação contará com um ponto de coleta onde clientes e moradores do entorno poderão depositar o resíduo, evitando a contaminação do meio ambiente e prejuízos à rede coletora de esgoto. Integrantes do programa explicarão a importância do descarte correto do óleo de fritura usado.

O ponto de coleta será montado no piso L1 do centro de compras e vai funcionar das 12h às 18h. O óleo que será entregue deverá estar acondicionado em garrafas de plástico. O resíduo coletado vai para ASA Indústria, responsável pelo programa Mundo Limpo, para ser reciclado e incorporado, como matéria graxa, na fabricação do sabão em barra Bem-te-vi. “Quem levar um litro de óleo de cozinha usado vai ganhar um tablete de sabão em barra Bem-te-vi, como forma de estímulo à preservação do meio ambiente”, explica Flávia Moura, gerente de responsabilidade socioambiental da ASA.

"Sabemos que o descarte incorreto do óleo de cozinha contamina os lençóis freáticos que são imprescindíveis para a garantir os recursos hídricos e o fornecimento de água para população. Daí a importância de parcerias como essa que levam informação e ajudam a desenvolver novos hábitos e a conscientizar a população", destaca Jakeline Soares, coordenadora da área socioambiental do Plaza.

A educação se tornou o maior legado do programa Mundo Limpo, Vida Melhor que, em 13 anos de existência, já retirou cerca de nove milhões de litros de óleo do meio ambiente, ajudando a preservar mais de 180 bilhões de litros de água, já que um litro de óleo pode contaminar até 20 mil litros de água.

Outras iniciativas do Plaza Shopping - Desde 2009, o Plaza Shopping implementou a coleta seletiva no mall, sinalizando as lixeiras para que os clientes descartem os resíduos separadamente. Além dos coletores específicos, o shopping também disponibiliza um Ponto de Entrega Voluntária, situado no piso E1, beneficiando uma cooperativa de catadores de material reciclável. No local, os clientes encontram coletores para cada tipo de material reciclável como: plástico, papel, metal, papelão e vidro. Ainda no Piso L1, também é possível descartar corretamente e de forma segura cartões de crédito, de planos de saúde e outros tipos de cartão de material semelhante no Papa Cartão.
