Shopping Tacaruna expõe Bonecos Gigantes de Olinda

Famosos por desfilarem imponentes nas ladeiras do Sítio Histórico de Olinda e nas ruas do Recife Antigo, durante o carnaval, os bonecos gigantes são uma verdadeira tradição da folia pernambucana. Alguns exemplares dessas figuras simbólicas, que compõem o acervo da Embaixada de Pernambuco - Bonecos Gigantes de Olinda, no Recife Antigo, estão expostas no Shopping Tacaruna até o dia 17 de fevereiro. Até lá, os clientes que frequentam o Tacaruna vão encontrar seis bonecos gigantes espalhados pelos corredores do mall. De acordo com o empresário e produtor cultural Leandro Castro, responsável pela Embaixada de Pernambuco – Bonecos Gigantes de Olinda, quando se fala da cultura pernambucana, a representatividade é bem extensa. “Mas se a gente puder sintetizar três figuras que marcaram a cultura e a Música Popular Brasileira em forma de boneco gigante, temos Chico Science (criador do Movimento Mangue Beat), Chacrinha (grande comunicador de todos os tempos da TV brasileira) e Dominguinhos com sua expressividade na música”, descreve. Além deles, estão expostos no Tacaruna o boneco gigante do Ariano Suassuna “paraibano, mas pernambucano de coração, e um grande pensador brasileiro, unanimidade nacional”, e mais de duas grandes figuras que representam a cultura popular pernambucana: Mateus e Caboclo de Lança”, completa Castro. Embaixada de Pernambuco – Localizada na Rua do Bom Jesus, Recife Antigo, trata-se de um espaço cultural aberto em 2009. O acervo do local conta com mais de 600 bonecos gigantes, porém ficam em exposição de 70 a 75 bonecos, produzidos por Leandro Castro, Sineide Castro e uma equipe de mais três artistas plásticos. O propósito foi criar um paralelo do museu de cera Madame Tussauds, em Londres, só que em forma de bonecos gigantes. A técnica de produção dos bonecos se dá por meio de uma modelagem na argila, feita a partir de fotografias das personalidades retratadas, na qual é possível trazer muita expressão facial. “Em seguida é feito uma forma e o boneco é finalizado em fibra de vidro. Assim eles ficam com muito mais durabilidade e leveza”, explica Leandro Castro. No carnaval, os bonecos gigantes da Embaixada Pernambuco realizam dois grandes desfiles que têm repercussão nacional e internacional. O primeiro é a Apoteose dos Bonecos Gigantes, que acontece sempre na segunda-feira de carnaval, em Olinda, com 100 bonecos. O segundo acontece nas ruas do Recife Antigo, toda terça-feira de carnaval. Os bonecos da Embaixada ficaram muito notórios. Já participaram de eventos para a Copa do Mundo, realizada no Brasil, em 2014, além de três versões do Brazilian Day, em Nova York, e do Encontro Mundial de Bonecos Gigante, na França, em 2012. Surgimento dos Bonecos Gigantes – Segundo Leandro Castro, todo mundo conhece os bonecos gigantes de Olinda e naturalmente imagina que teve início em Olinda. Mas não é verdade. “Essa cultura começou na Europa, durante a Idade Média. Países como Bélgica, Espanha e Portugal tinham a tradição de transformar santos em bonecos gigantes para as procissões”, conta. Aqui em Pernambuco, a presença dos bonecos gigantes não começou em Olinda e sim no Sertão do Estado, na cidade de Belém de São Francisco. Lá vivia um padre belga que falava muito da tradição europeia e inspirou um rapaz chamado Gumercindo a criar um boneco chamado Zé Pereira, em 1919. Na época, ele fazia a encenação do imaginário como se o boneco tivesse chegado da Europa de barquinho e então começava o carnaval. Ganharam as ladeiras de Olinda, em 1932, com a criação de um boneco chamado O Homem da Meia-Noite, símbolo do carnaval de Olinda. Na década de 1970, surgiram vários artesãos em Olinda, que até hoje produzem bonecos do imaginário popular, com a técnica do isopor e papel machê.
